What Football Can Teach Us About Pageantry

Growing up near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I learned early about Chuck Noll. He wasn’t a star player on the football field, but as head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers he built one of the greatest dynasties in NFL history — four Super Bowl victories, a legacy of discipline, and a roster of Hall of Famers.

His genius was not in wearing the uniform; it was in knowing the game and bringing out the best in others.

That story resonates with me.
My daughter won the crown as a state titleholder, and I was her consultant. I didn’t need the sash or the crown myself to prepare her for the spotlight. My role was to guide, strategize, and help her shine as her best self.
Winning a crown does not make you an expert. It makes you a competitor; a characteristic my daughter strongly manifests to this day.
However, a knowledgeable, viable, and worthwhile consultant knows the strategy and “the game” inside and out. That’s what I do for my clients.
Just like Chuck Noll, I believe in building champions.
